the process

  1. guided steps or one long scroll

A bundle means many choices in one flow. Guests needed to know where they were at every step.

Three concepts, then an unmoderated test of two layouts: guided steps versus one long scroll.

Slide with objective and two bundle screens.
Two layouts tested: guided steps vs. one long scroll.
  2. where the scroll version broke

In the scroll version, some people felt scroll fatigue and missed “Change Bundle”. 10 of 12 preferred step-by-step, with 100% task success.

    Findings slide with scroll-based screens.
Some guests felt scroll fatigue, and "Change Bundle" was easy to miss.

the solution

  1. a tracker that fills as you go

A 5-step progress tracker that fills with item thumbnails as each step is done, and a small add-to-bundle animation.

Four phone screens with a five-step progress tracker.
    Step-by-step won the test.

impact & next steps
